CompactPCI Backplane Boasts 16 Slots

April 1, 2001

Available in both standard and H.110 versions, a monolithic 16-slot CompactPCI backplane has been added to the company’s line of high-performance boards. Also new to the line are two- and five-slot backplanes and a five-slot H.110 model for computer telephony applications. Compliant with the latest PICMG specifications, the CompactPCI line includes an ATX power connector (except for the two-slot version) to allow easy plug-in from the backplane to the chassis during assembly. The ATX power connector eliminates the need to build a wire harness by utilizing the standard PC power supply cable. The backplane also features power studs for optimal performance in systems with higher power requirements. The CompactPCI series utilizes the company’s computer-simulated, eight-layer, stripline design and the backplanes are hot-swap compliant with the current PICMG 2.1 Rev. specification.
