Connectors Simplify USB Plug-And-Play Capability

Feb. 1, 1999

Interfacing multiple full-speed and low-speed USB devices to a host computer, the firm's Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectors, cable assemblies, retrofit assemblies and hubs can handle a printer, scanner, telephone, FAX, joystick, and game controller through a single USB cable consisting of only four conductors. For computers in plug-and-play configurations, there's a broad array of interconnecting USB plugs, receptacles, cable assemblies and CPU rear brackets. Series A plugs and receptacles are for use where the external cable is permanently attached, such as keyboards, mice or hubs in single or double-stacked versions. Series B plugs and receptacles are for use with external detachable cables on devices, such as printers, scanners and modems.
