cPCI Media Subsystem Delivers High density VoP

Sept. 1, 2001

Designed for high-density voice over packet (VoP) applications, the MediaBlade CompactPCI media subsystem is offered as a modular and scalable media-processing board set bundled with the companyÕs VoPware software. Stated as a key feature, the media processor provides N-way conferencing capabilities as opposed to packet-multiplexing techniques employed in other packet- or cell-based systems. This approach promises high-quality and natural-sounding audio to all parties involved in the conference. The subsystem also touts a unique hardware architecture that supports non-blocking and independent mixing of all media ports. This is said to provide the building blocks to support the Communications Assistance for the Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) requirements. Features such as media stream mixing, voice-enabled chat rooms, sidebar conferencing, and customer support monitoring are also included.
