cPCI Platform Doubles Channel Density For Voice/Data Apps

July 1, 2000

Adding to the company's line ComStruct DSP resource boards, the CPCI/C6402-3 single-slot DSP platform increases system channel density per slot. The board employs eight TMS320C6203 processors and can transcode up to 200 channels per slot.
Operating at 300 MHz each and with 16 MB of RAM each, the eight DSPs provide a combined performance of 19,200 MIPs. Using a low latency BiFIFO connection, transfers between the control processor and the DSPs is up to 100 MB/s.
The board has two control processors running 80 MHz, each equipped with 32 MB of SDRAM and 4 MB of flash memory.
