Introduced as the first CompactPCI 2.16 blade based on 64-bit, single- and dual-core AMD Opteron processors, the CPC5564 single-board computer targets high-end telecom, defense, security, and commercial applications. The Opteron processor provides a scalable x86 architecture as well as a flexible upgrade path from 32- to 64-bit computing. Running Linux, Solaris, and Windows operating systems, the SBC offers two 64-bit processor options: single core operating to 2.2 GHz and dual core to 1.8 GHz. Other features include 2, 4, or 8 GB memory options, PICMG 2.16 and PICMG 2.9 (IPMI) compatibility, and four channels of SATA or one channel of PATA . Pricing starts at $2,995 each.
