Designed with many options for redundancy, the G8 Sparc CompactPCI system features a Sparc 1500 processor, an I/O transition board, a 4-MB video card, and an eight-slot cPCI backplane. Its chassis also houses a four-drive bay, redundant power supplies, CD-ROM, floppy and hard drives, and a three-fan tray. The system comes with Sun Microsystem's Solaris 7 or 8 installed.
