CPU Board Seeks High-Availability Applications

Claimed to be well-suited for use in high-availability applications, the CT7 cPCI-based board can be used as either a system or peripheral CPU. Via dual-bus expansion, the 6U-sized CPU board supports up to 14 slots using standard backplanes. The card can be configured with Celeron processors up 433 MHz and Pentium III CPUs up to 750 MHz and also packs an Intel 82440BX chipset, and up to 1 GB of 100-MHz SDRAM. Other standard features include an EIDE interface, floppy-disk controller, two serial interfaces, a parallel and two USB ports, and support for a range of operating systems that include Windows 98/NT, embedded NT, VxWorks, QNX, Linux, and LynxOS. Available options include a VGA/LCD C&T 69030 video controller with 4 MB of SDRAM, up to two Ethernet interfaces for 10/100 Mb/s with front or rear I/O, a 20-Mb/s SCSI interface, and a flash drive capable of storing up to 272 MB of information. An extended, -40°C to 70°C temperature range version of the card is also available.
