Said to provide ideal protection against thermal degradation and short circuiting, the CI Series Crystal Insulator line is designed for precise lead spacing for a variety of industry standard packages in applications requiring crystals. Manufactured from ultra-thin (.005") Mylar EL-21 UL rated 94V-2 material, the self-retaining crystal insulator is mounted beneath the crystal. The company says this provides increased reliability as well as temperature and burn resistance, while requiring no additional pc board real estate. Acting as an insulating layer of circuitry, the CI Series provides dielectric strength of up to 14,000 V/mil and protection against melting to 487°F. Typical pricing is $20.57 per 1,000 in production quantities.
