Boasting that its thermal stability is three times better than a standard tuning fork crystal or oscillator at a frequency of 32.768 kHz, the OC1T-1D series low-power torsional crystal oscillators are suited for heat timing reference applications in automotive dashboard electronics. At the heart of the devices is a torsional quartz crystal resonator, which is said to deliver a flatter thermal curve than comparable devices. Housed in a hermetically sealed ceramic package that contains the crystal and an ASIC, the device works using a supply voltage of 2.7 to 3.3 vdc and consumes less than 10 µA. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C and frequency stability is characterized as: 0 to -10 ppm at 0°C to +50°C; 0 to -30 ppm at -20°C to +70°C; and 0 to -50 ppm at -40°C to +85°C. Other features include frequency tolerance of ±30 ppm, shock resistance of 5000g, and vibration resistance of 10 to 2000 Hz. Pricing is $5.00 each/10,000.
