The LT1738 is a dc/dc regulator controller with ultra-low switching harmonic content that simplifies the design of single-switch topologies, such as boost, flyback and Cuk. Its control of current and voltage switching times is said to greatly reduce the need for external filters and to minimize the number of layout iterations needed of a pc board. The LT1738 has a current mode architecture that reduces high-frequency harmonic power by as much as 40 dB. And it comes in a 20-lead small shrink outline package priced at $4.10 each/1,000.
