The company's CY4638 demonstration kit for a 2.4-GHz wireless voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) headset pairs its WirelessUSB LP radio system-on-chip with Winbond Electronics' single-channel W681360 voice codec. The latter is a 13-bit linear a/d and d/a converter. The kit forecasts fewer interruptions than comparable wireless technologies and provides a range over 20m. Employing a dual antenna design, the headset board also includes the company’s enCoRe II flash microcontroller and a rechargeable battery for the radio module. Also included in the kit is the WirelessUSB LP Bridge and a CD-ROM containing hardware schematics, bill of materials, and firmware. Single-unit price is $249.
