Addressing local interconnect network (LIN) system design with PICmicro MCUs, the PICDEM LIN development kit provides sample programs to demonstrate the LIN protocol in a network using the sample MCUs. It allows users to demonstrate the integration of the LIN for proof of operation. The kit includes software, a series of demo boards, and three MCUs: the PIC16G432 and PIC16C433 serving as slaves in LIN communication and the PIC16F874 flash MCU serving as the master. The boards accept 18-, 28-, and 40-pin devices and include a prototype area and 12V regulator. Price is 445 each. MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC., Chandler, AZ. (480) 786-7668.
