Digital Pattern Generator Boards Support 32 Gb Of Memory

Oct. 8, 2008
Capable of generating ECL, PECL, TTL, LVDS, LVTTL, CMOS, or LVCMOS signals, the UF2-7200 series PCI-based digital pattern generator boards support up to 32 Gb of memory, maximum clock rates of 40 MHz, 10 MHz, or 5 MHz, and a choice of 16- or 32-bit

Capable of generating ECL, PECL, TTL, LVDS, LVTTL, CMOS, or LVCMOS signals, the UF2-7200 series PCI-based digital pattern generator boards support up to 32 Gb of memory, maximum clock rates of 40 MHz, 10 MHz, or 5 MHz, and a choice of 16- or 32-bit widths. Claimed as unique, each 4-bit (nibble) can be programmed with a different high and low output level from -2V to +10V in 10-mV increments. The series is reportedly less expensive, easier to use, and eliminates the need for multiple instruments to produce different signal levels when compared to similar topologies. Signal data can be generated from card memory, continuously looping until stopped or streamed continuously from the host PC at rates to 225 MB/s. Output rate is programmable from dc to 40 MHz, and each channel can drive a maximum current of 100 mA. The boards include drivers for Windows Vista/XP64/XP/2000/NT/ME/98 and Linux with drivers for MATLAB, LabVIEW, VEE, and DASYLab available as options. Prices range from $3,490 for the 10-MHz/16-bit UF2-7210 with 512-Mb of memory to $5,590 for the 40-MHz/32-bit UF2-7221 with 512-Mb of memory. STRATEGIC TEST CORP., Woburn, MA. (866) 898-3278.
