VIA Technologies, Inc. will be displaying a number of high-performance mini-notes, thin and light notebooks, eco-friendly PCs, and power-efficient systems implemented using VIA’s expertise in platform miniaturization. The display at CES in Las Vegas will include new mobile systems based on the VIA Nano processor and VIA C7 processor-based mini-note designs from the Global Mobility Bazaar program, an industry infrastructure program aimed at driving the rapid adoption of affordable mobile computing devices.

Among the mobile systems being introduced is the new Dr. Mobile FreeStyle 1300n thin and light notebook. Powered by a choice of 1.2-GHz or 1.3-GHz VIA Nano processors, this device weighs less than 1.3 kg and delivers excellent HD video performance through an 11.6-in. screen.

Also on display will be a variety of small-form-factor desktops from leading global manufacturers such as Foxconn and Shuttle. These devices couple a power-efficient VIA Nano processor with one of VIA’s highly integrated unified digital media chipsets, and an optional S3 Graphics Chrome discrete GPU to deliver an optimized visual computing experience.

VIA Embedded, a division of VIA, will showcase the latest ARTiGO builder kit, the A2000 barebones storage system. An innovative home server set-up based on the touch-screen VIPRO will show how the digital lifestyle in the home is starting to happen.

In addition, S3 Graphics will demonstrate the latest HD video and image applications using the all-new Chrome 500 series graphics cards running on a VIA Nano-based board. It includes an innovative application visualizing the future of movie and other HD content streaming.
