DSP Board Delivers More Than 19,000 MIPS

March 1, 2002

Heralding a breakthrough in computing performance, the Model 4293 deploys eight C6203 DSPs to provide processing power in excess of 19,000 MIPS. The 6U VME COTS board includes both a 64-bit PCI mezzanine card interface (PMC) and a velocity interface mezzanine (VIM) interface, with the latter sending data directly to the processors at rates up to 1.2 GB/s. Other features include four 300-MB/s interprocessor bi-FIFOs, four 300-MB/s bus I/O FIFOs, eight 16-MB SDRAMs, 16 MB of shared global SDRAM, and a VME64 master/slave interface. The board can work with Windows 98/2000/NT, Solaris, VxWorks, and Linux OSs. Price starts at 23,995. PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ. (201) 818-5900.
