Said to deliver the industry's best phase noise performance for frequency and timing generation applications, the ADF42xx family of dual PLL synthesizer ICs boast of a 5 dB improvement in phase noise up to 2 GHz compared to competitive devices. In addition, the inclusion of an on-board oscillator circuit permits inexpensive crystal sources to be used as frequency references. The PLL consists of a low noise digital phase frequency detector, a precision charge pump, a programmable reference divider, programmable A and B counters and a dual-modulus prescaler. The chips are priced at $1.70 each/10,000.
