Echo Cancellation Module Touts High Voice Densities

March 1, 2001

Claiming to lead the industry in voice densities, the Xs.500 series echo-cancellation, packet-voice processing engine is also said to provide essential voice processing for next-generation voice-over-packet (VoP) and wireless networks. The module is offered as a board-level solution, implemented on a single-width PCI mezzanine card (PMC) that comes pre-configured with all voice processing software on board. Incorporating optimized, field-proven algorithms, the module performs echo cancellation for up to 1,152 voice channels, each with a 64 ms tail length. It is said to exceed the ITU G.168 (2000) standard and can be customized for application-specific requirements. Options include additional voice-processing functionality such as voice-compression, telephony processing, or voice packetization.
