The ZXE-x86 embedded controller incorporates 1 GB+ of flash, EPROM or RAM that can be accessed via the Internet or Ethernet. The board can perform real-time control of an operation while allowing data to be remotely downloaded or programs to be remotely uploaded, and is the first unit to incorporate the ZF Micro ZFx86 (formerly Mach Z) microprocessor. With a benign chip recovery from bad software uploads to flash memory, the ZXE-x86 suits remote-controlled operations. It's equipped with the Linux operating system including web server and 12 x 32-pin DIP sockets. The controller board also includes other features, such as a floppy interface, IDE primary/secondary interface, two buffered TTL serial ports, two RS-232 serial ports, a printer port, ESS stereo surround sound circuitry delivering 2W/channel, a and Dallas DS1425 security button.
