Embedded PC Has Free TCP/IP Stack

With everything needed for remote TCP/IP based embedded control systems on a single board computer, Netsock/400 486DX embedded PC includes 22 lines of digital I/O, an optional eight 12-bit analog inputs, four 12-bit analog outputs, and a 10BaseT Ethernet port. This mix of on-board I/O provides a complete solution for many embedded control applications. The Ethernet port with on-board software support provides an easy-to-use path for connecting a number of Netsock/400 controllers into a LAN for supervisory management and data transfer. An innovative TCP/IP implementation is preloaded into flash memory on the controller to let developers use higher level Winsock calls to send data between a Netsock/400 controller and any other network address, or a supervisory computer such as a Windows 95/98/NT. The 486DX 32-bit processor runs at 66, 100 or 133 MHz, and the board includes on-board cache, 32-bit DRAM, hardware floating point, and AT compatible interrupt, timer, DMA, keyboard, mouse, IDE, RTC, and SMOS RAM. On-board I/O includes COM1, COM2, 22 TTL I/O lines, three additional counter/timers for applications and options for eight analog inputs and four analog outputs. I/O expansion can be added using the PC/104 connector using 8- or 16-bit PC/104 cards.
