Packing, among other things, a powerful CPU, five LAN ports and a SSD interface, theMLB-7910 single-board computer is said to meet the needs of critical applications requiring 24/7 reliability, such as specified for intensive network systems. The embedded SBC incorporates a socketed 478 Pentium 4 processor with speeds of 400 or 533 MHz, an 845G chipset, and an 82540 1000/100/10 Ethernet controller and dual 82551QM 100/10-Mbps Ethernet interface, all Intel chips. The built-in IDE interface supports two enhanced IDE devices, including the Ultra DMA 33/66/100 mode with a data transfer rate of up to 100 MB/s. Also found on-board are a number of industrial class features, including: a watchdog timer that supports software programmable timeout intervals and generates a system reset; a SSD interface via 50-pin CompactFlash socket; and a built-in Winbond W83627HF for monitoring temperatures, fan speed and voltage. Two RS-232 serial ports, a bi-directional parallel port supporting SSP, ECP and EEP modes, and a SMBus connector for an LCD interface are also on-board. The MLB-7910 measures just 8.3" x 8.27", operates from a single 12 Vdc supply, and spans a 0°C to 60°C operating temperature range. Pricing starts at $500 each, with volume discounts available.
