EPIC SBC Brandishes Dual-Core Atom Processor

The ReadyBoard 740 EPIC single board computer (SBC) employs a dual-core Atom D510 or single-core D410 processor, plus an ICH8M chipset and an SSD, H.264 hardware video decoder.

Embedded Systems Conference, April 2010 – Supporting multi-core computing and an optional power protection module for transportation applications in harsh environments, the ReadyBoard 740 EPIC single board computer (SBC) employs a dual-core Atom D510 or single-core D410 processor, plus an ICH8M chipset and an SSD, H.264 hardware video decoder. Other features include up to 2 GB of 667-MHz DDR2 RAM, a Broadcom Crystal HD H.264 video decoder, VGA, LVDS, and DVI output, an operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C, and the SBC meets MIL-STD-202 for vibration up to 11.95g and shock up to 50g. I/O connectivity includes four serial ports, two SATA ports, six USB 2.0 ports, four COM ports, one parallel port, a GbE port, and PS/2 keyboard/mouse. Operating system support includes Linux (Ubuntu), VxWork 6.6, QNX 6.3, Windows Embedded CE 6.0, and Windows XP Embedded. Price starts at $410 each.
