In addition to being UL listed for flammability, the NMBE-1 and NMBE-2 adjustable box extenders are said to be the industryÕs first such components to be UL listed for both metallic and non-metallic boxes. Both extenders promise to safely insulate electrical devices and both enlarge and extend electrical box faces.These non-conductive extenders slide into the main box, helping to eliminate damage to drywalls or plasterboard. Other certifications and approvals include compliance with NEC articles 370-20 and 370-21 and CSA certification.The extenders are made from material that meets UL 94-5VA.
