A new pc-board fault indicator integrates LED light sources, holders, and mounting pins, through a precision injection molding process. The one-piece design eliminates additional factory-side assembly. Tight-tolerance lead spacing makes them easier to "auto insert." The device can be used for communications equipment, computer, power management, control system applications, or anywhere a fault or static indication is needed with mounting directly on the circuit board. The LED fault indicator comes in single, dual, triple, and quad LED versions, furnished with T-3 LEDs. An unlimited range of LED colors and intensities is available. Electro-optical characteristics vary depending on the LED selected, but a typical green unit has a peak wavelength of 565 nm, with a typical axial intensity of 50 mcd at a forward current of If=20 mA. Pricing starts at less than $0.20 each/5,000. LUMEX, Palatine, IL. (800) 278-5666.
