Touted as the first high-density 6U VPX Gigabit Ethernet multilayer switch/router board for embedded aerospace and defense applications, the VPX6-684 FireBlade II is available with 12, 20, or 24 GbE ports and up to 4x10 GbE ports. The board operates as either a fully managed or an unmanaged switch/router. Four of the GbE ports can be configured as optical (1000-BaseSX). Other features include MIB support, an optical expansion port, support for Layer 2/3+ switching/routing software and IETF RFCs, SSH, SSL, Secure memory erase, wire-speed IPv4/v6 support, built-in test, enhanced security with PMC-110 Kryptonite, Statefull Firewall (ICSA certified), lightning and ESD protection, and air- and conduction-cooled versions.
