The TDS2020F data-collection and control module is claimed to need neither a PROM programmer nor C-code programmer to develop embedded applications. The module is a 16-bit, 20 MHz control computer that consumes little power and includes an interactive, high-level Forth language on-board.
The module measures 100 mm x 80 mm and consumes only 155 µA in standby mode. Features include PCMCIA, CANbus and GPS interfaces. Data can be recorded on Windows-compatible flash cards, then loaded directly into applications such as Excel or Access. Made in England by Triangle Digital Services, the module costs $445.
