Full-Face Illuminated Tactile Switches Enhance Human Interfaces

Oct. 4, 2006
The JL series of ultra-thin, full-face illuminated tactile switches is ideal for designers who want to enhance a human interface display.

Distinctive in appearance and functionality, the JL series of ultra-thin, full-face illuminated tactile switches is ideal for designers who want to enhance a human interface display. The JL switches are 22 mm square, with a black housing that frames a 19-mm square actuator. The actuator is made of polycarbonate, situated over multiple-LED arrays and interior reflectors that deliver very bright illumination. Designers can specify red, green, or amber LEDs, and actuators are available in white, red, amber, and green. The switches measure 7.85 mm from the pc-board to the top of the switch, and have 0.100- by 0.100-in. spacing that conforms to standard grids. The SPST momentary switches have a dome contact mechanism designed to provide crisp tactile and audible feedback. They are guaranteed for a minimum of 1 million electrical and mechanical operations. The series is rated at 50 mA at 24 V dc. The JL series is available from stock to six weeks. The price is $12.06 each in quantities of 500. To learn more, go to www.nkkswitches.com.
