Half-Size SBC Has VGA Graphics

Nov. 1, 1999

Intended for compact computer processing applications, the TL-SBC 6500 is a highly integrated, half-size Intel Celeron-based single-board computer with 66/100 MHz CPU bus speed, allowing the CPU to run at up to 500 MHz. The board's pair of DIMM sockets hold a maximum of 1 Gbyte of memory, and it's enhanced with a C&T 69000 VGA controller with 2 Mbytes of memory for CRT/LCD buffering. It's also equipped with Intel's 82558B full-duplex Ethernet controller with 10Base-T/100Base-TX connectivity. The board carries a Y2K-compliant BIOS in flash memory and is designed for ISA bus operation. Other standard features include two RS-232 serial ports, one ECP/EPP parallel port, an enhanced IDE interface for floppy/hard disk drives, a real-time clock, a watchdog timer, USB ports, an IrDA interface, a PC/104 connector, a Disk-On-Chip socket, and mouse and keyboard ports. High-end embedded applications include PC-based control, voice processing, video conferencing, computer networking, datacom and telecom, and computer telephony.
