Measuring 210 x 107 x 55 mm, Model 381285 combines a graphical storage oscilloscope and a true RMS digital multimeter (DMM) in a single instrument. The scope provides a dc to 5-MHz bandwidth with a sample rate up to 25 Msamples/s. For viewing complex waveforms, an adjustable trigger level and slope are also provided. The instrument can store up to 15 waveforms. With a 4,000-count display, the DMM measures true RMS ac voltage (400 mV to 700V) and current (400 mA to 20A) and dc voltage (400 mV to 1 kV) and current (400 mA to 20A). Other DMM measurement functions include continuity, resistance, capacitance, frequency from 1 Hz to 5 MHz, dBm, diode, an adjustable 5V square wave output from 2.5 Hz to 78 kHz, and a comparator function. An on-board RS-232 interface is supported by optional Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP software. Price is $399. For more details, call John O'Brien at EXTECH INSTRUMENTS CORP., Waltham, MA.
