IDCs Can Be Automatically Inserted

Nov. 1, 1998

Only about 61% as large as conventional miniature IDC designs, Series SR wire-to-board SMT connectors have dimensions of only 3 mm high with 1 mm pitch. The IDC section that connects each wire has dual U-slots to provide redundancy for reliable connections, even under adverse environmental and mechanical stresses. A three-point insulation grip provides strain relief for further interconnection integrity. Accommodating 2 to 13 circuits, contacts are rated at 0.7A dc at 50 vdc with operating temperature range of -25°C to 85°C. Mating shrouded headers for top or side entry provide sufficient flat surface for vacuum gripping equipment, which, together with tape packaging, enable the connectors to be inserted with automatic equipment.
