Imaging Modules Are IEEE-1394/FireWire Compliant

June 1, 2000

Targeting OEM imaging applications such as megapixel digital still cameras, camcorders, PC peripherals, machine vision cameras, biometric systems, surveillance/security cameras and automotive devices, PixeLINK imaging modules are based on firm's megapixel image sensors. This family of IEEE-1394 compliant imaging modules is a complete image acquisition subsystem consisting of a compact, two-board set that mates the OEM's selected imager to a generic IEEE-1394 interface module. The IEEE-1394 protocol stack supports asynchronous command and control and isochronous image data transactions. Using the IEEE-1394 standard, OEMs no longer must develop and maintain proprietary systems to capture, transmit and store images. Price is $1495 for the developer's kit.
