The AirMax VS shield-less, high-speed backplane connector family now includes mezzanine connectors that are available in stack heights ranging from 12.5 mm to 30 mm in a variety of circuit counts to support the clearance requirements of most board-mounted components. They rely on press-fit vertical headers in combination with the system’s vertical receptacles and the resulting stack height is dictated by the selection of the appropriate vertical header. Similar to their siblings, the mezzanine connectors employ edge-coupling technology and an air dielectric between adjacent conductors. Pricing typically starts at $0.28 per mated differential pair with a lead time of 20 weeks. For more information, contact FCI, Etters, PA. (800) 237-2374.
