PPC65 NEMA 4/IP65-rated touchpanel PC

WinSystems is well known for PC/104 and SUMIT-based single board computers (SBC) as well as industrial flash memory (see WinSystems Delivers Industrial Compact Flash). Lately it has moved into rugged LCD panels. The PPC65 family of touchpanel PCs (Fig. 1) blends SBCs with LCD displays. The 12-, 15-, 17- or 19-inch diagonal display family with front bezels that are environmentally sealed meet NEMA 4/IP65 requirements. They are also compliant with FCC Part 15 B and CE EMC Directive 2004/108/EC. The multitouch displays are designed to handle environments with moisture, dust, and dirt. They can be used for a range of industrial applications from medical to transportation.

Behind the industrial-grade LCD panel is a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom. The PPC65 systems have 2 Gbytes of RAM. Storage options include an internal SATA drive and/or Compact Flash SSD. Communication interfaces include a Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, and two RS-232 serial ports.

The system requires 12V DC. Versions are available for 24V to 48V DC. They can handle 1G of vibration and 15Gs of shock.

WinSystems provides customization services. OEMs can work wih a black chassis and custom art for the bezel. Operating systems can be preloaded and the systems work with x86 operating systems like Windows 7, Windows CE, Linux, and QNX.
