Employing the company's P/Active technology, the PACKBME keyboard/mouse filter provides EMI/RFI filtering, termination, and ESD protection that exceeds the IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 international standard in computers. The device is able to protect the computer system from accidental damage caused by ESD to 30 kV contact discharge. It terminates the two data lines for the keyboard or mouse port. By integrating resistors, capacitors, and diodes on silicon, the device achieves termination, filtering and ESD protection of a keyboard/mouse port. The integration of these components also saves board space. Available in a compact, surface-mount SOT23-6 package, the device is priced at $0.30 each/10,000.
