Logarithmic Amp Handles IF Signal Measurement Assignments

Oct. 1, 2000

Signals of up to 440 MHz can be detected in just 15 ns with the AD8310 logarithmic amplifier, making it well suited for pulse detection and amplitude-shift keying modulated waveform demodulation applications such as automotive toll tags, cellular base station and fiber optic networks. Log amps can detect varying signals over a very large dynamic range. The 95 dB dynamic range and 15 ns response time of the device enable to meet the performance requirements of these demanding applications. The chip is available in a micro-SOIC package and is priced at $6.00 each/1000. Evaluation boards are also available.
