Low-Profile Connectors Pack LIF Contacts

Aug. 1, 2001

Touting an ultra-low profile and low insertion force (LIF) contacts, the Series SHL connectors are targeted for use in high-density applications, such as notebook computers, LCD monitors, PDAs and cell phones. The disconnectable, crimp-style connectors have a profile of only 1.4 mm for offset mounting units and 1.8 mm for normal pc-board mounting types, while their spring-action, LIF contacts are designed to prevent deformation during crimping operations. The SHL connectors come with 14, 16 and 20 circuits rated at 1A at 50V ac/dc and can accommodate AWG #32 to #28 wire sizes. They also have a -25¡C to 85¡C operating temperature range. And the headers are provided on embossed tape for use with auto insertion equipment. J.S.T. CORP., Waukegan, IL. (800) 947-1110.
