Memory Card Interconnects Meet SDA Specs

Aug. 1, 2001

Said to comply with all Secure Digital Association (SDA) standards, the 5638 Series of memory card connectors come in normal and reverse styles, as well as with push/push ejector options. The options are intended to give designers several packaging choices to select fromÑe.g., the normal and reverse keying options for top or bottom pc-board mounting in order to maintain correct card orientation. The Secure Digital connectors have nine contacts, SMT tails, and come in tape-and-reel packages. Two additional contacts provide both write protect and card detect functions. And guide rails assure proper card alignment. The SMT connectors carry 0.5A per pin and 5V ratings with a dielectric withstanding voltage of 500VRMS min. Typical pricing starts at $0.80 each in OEM quantities. AVX CORP., Sales & Marketing, Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 946-0414.
