Embedded applications that require large amounts of nonvolatile memory along with the convenience of removable data storage are the targets for the QED memory interface board, which provides a complete hardware and software interface for PCMCIA cards.

Embedded applications that require large amounts of nonvolatile memory along with the convenience of removable data storage are the targets for the QED memory interface board, which provides a complete hardware and software interface for PCMCIA cards. It accommodates linear flash cards up to 32 MB, and ATA flash cards of any capacity. Additional add-on memory includes a 256-kbyte flash chip and 128k of battery-backed RAM. It interfaces directly to the QED board, an I/O-rich embedded computer that packs data acquisition, computation and control capabilities on a palm-sized card.
