Mil-Spec PowerPC 750 Drives COTS SBC

Feb. 1, 2000

Claimed to be the first full Mil-Spec PowerPC 750-based COTS single-board computer, the General Purpose Control Processor (GPCP) 750 rad-hardened board is designed for use in mission-critical applications in harsh environs while fulfilling the 1994 COTS mandate. With two PMC interfaces, the conduction-cooled GPCP 750 can be customized by adding standard or custom PMC modules (IEEE1386.1). The COTS SBC has an operating temperature range of -55°C to 85°C, is powered by a 200-MHz PowerPC 750 processor, and also features 32 Mbytes of DRAM with error detection and correction (EDC), 16 Mbytes of 64-bit flash memory (users can run programs directly out of flash), 512 Kbytes of Boot PROM, and 512 Kbytes of cache. Also on-board are two RS-232 and two RS-422 ports, seven variable gain differential dc inputs, six ac analog inputs, four servo-valve outputs, five discrete I/O ports, a high-speed interrupt controller, a JTAG emulation port, and much more.
