The washable, ultra-miniature GB and G3B series pushbuttons employ a sliding twin crossbar (STC) contact mechanism. According to the company, this feature guarantees unparalleled logic-level switching reliability, as the gold plated contacts are wiped clean with every actuation. A combination of rounded movable and stationary contacts achieves a smooth contact feel. Designed for use in low-voltage, low-current, logic-level circuits, the miniature size of the GB and G3B series lends itself to high-density mounting. Weighing just 0.25g, these switches are well-suited for handheld equipment. Both GB through-hole and G3B surface mount pushbuttons are totally process sealed for automated processing techniques including flux-cleaning procedures. Terminals are epoxy-sealed and molded in to lock out flux, solvents and other contaminants. Terminal spacing on both devices is .100 x .100 standard pc board grid spacing. The GB's round terminals reportedly facilitate easier mounting, while the G3B's gull-wing terminals provide mechanical stability during soldering and simplify joint inspection. Pushbuttons can be specified in single-pole and double-momentary circuits. Actuators measure .130" long. Switches are rated 0.4 VA at 28V ac/dc maximum. NKK SWITCHES, Scottsdale, AZ. (480) 991-0942.
