Designed in a modular format, these ultra-bright LED modules can be fitted tightly together to create a grid-type solid color display. The modular design of the new Super Flux Mako LED series permits light distribution to fill the complete square area, achieving a uniform pattern of light without gaps, while reducing the number of devices typically required with conventional LEDs. Using an integrated heatsink for high current capabilities, the Mako series of LEDs has a continuous forward current of 50mA and an average forward current of 30 mA at 2.4 to 4.6 VF. The LEDs are suited for outdoor applications, such as traffic signs, stadium scoreboards, moving messages, and other large outdoor applications where uniform, high intensity light is required. Using 0.200" grid-spaced pc board pins with integral standoffs, the LEDs can be inserted into industry-standard through-hole circuitry. The footprint measures 7.62 mm square. Wavelengths range from 465 to 630 nm and the viewing angle reaches 60°. Colors come in high intensity blue, aqua, green, amber and red, with the LEDs appearing water-clear when off. Quantity pricing is $0.65 each. BIVAR INC., Irvine, CA. (800) 772-2377.
