Recruiting a TMS320F28335 floating-point digital signal controller (DSC), the MxK28335 DSC motor-control kit family offers basic starter kits and professional kits with complete source-code examples and function libraries. The kits pack a wide range of tools for designing DSP-based motor control applications. Modular in structure, users can upgrade from a simple kit to a more powerful one as their projects require. To develop and test motion control algorithms, the MSK28335 DSC boards pair the 150 MIPS TMS320F28335 with a double-event manager able to drive up to 18 PWM and 16 a/d converters. An embedded CAN interface connects the board to multiple-axis structures and the kits connect to a PC via an RS-232 interface. The basic MSK28335 kits target those who already have a power module and motor and want to develop motion-control software applications for educational purposes while the most sophisticated MCK28335 professional kits also include application examples in source code for controlling either brushless or induction motors, and Matlab function libraries.
