Single-Layer Border Capacitors Come In Miniature Package
Models in a line of single-layer, high-frequency capacitors can operate into the millimeter bands. They have a dielectric constant of 22,000. Typical X7R temperature characteristics span the −55°C to 125°C military operating-temperature range. As a result, the manufacturer claims, these capacitors have the industry's highest volumetric efficiency. For example, a 1000-pF device would measure just 0.035 by 0.035 by 0.006 in. while maintaining the capacitance value within ±15% over the full military operating range.

Sizes range from 0.01 to 0.09 in.2, in addition to custom configurations. They can be supplied with or without borders. Bordered models with double-sided designs minimize potential shorting problems during board mounting. They also eliminate orientation concerns.

Volume quantities are available with a lead time of less than eight weeks. Contact the company for pricing information.

RFI/EMI Suppression Chokes Fit EMC-Compliance Applications
Designers can use a line of common-mode RFI/EMI noise-suppression chokes to protect digital circuitry from mains-borne interference. These chokes also suppress high interference levels from ultrasonic generators, fast rectifiers, and switched mains equipment. Additionally, they enhance phase-angle control circuits. Their high performance/saturation ratio suits them for EMC-compliance applications. They can be used in DSL, telecom, servers, computers, medical equipment design, and suppressing equipment with no ground connection.

Models are available in horizontal and vertical formats to provide design flexibility. Their compact sizes enhance pc-board mounting options while conserving board space for creative design. Current ratings range from 0.3 to 5.0 A. The chokes also feature broadband attenuation characteristics and low-leakage flux. Their maximum operating voltage is 250 V ac at 40°C. These agency-approved devices are manufactured with UL-rated materials, as well.

Pricing begins at $0.60 each. Delivery takes eight weeks.

Tiny Ultracapacitor Provides 10-F Capacitance While Caching 31 J
A 10-F ultracapacitor known as the PC10 can increase battery operating life while reducing battery size in applications that require pulsed power capabilities. It caches 31 J of energy at 2.5 V for high-powered discharges ranging from fractions of a second to one minute. The PC10, then, can provide power during an application's peak periods. It also extends the application's backup-power capabilities.

Measuring 24 by 31 by 4.5 mm, the PC10 comes in a durable, lightweight, hermetically sealed stainless steel prismatic can. Its design provides easy access to its solderable terminals. Also, its electrostatic storage capability can cycle hundreds of thousands of charges and discharges without performance degradation. Additionally, the PC10 can accept charges at the identical rate of discharges for systems that can benefit from regenerative energy.

RF Attenuators And Terminations Sport 1000-W Operation
The 1000-A series of attenuators and 1000-T series of terminations feature 1000-W convection cooling, which is ideal for benchtop and field applications. They feature 3-, 6-, 10-, 20-, and 30-dB attenuation values. Both lines have a maximum VSWR of 1.1:1 from dc to 1 GHz and 1.25:1 from 1 to 2.4 GHz. Designers can select from TNC, N, and 7/16, male and female, connector options. Weighing about 26 lbs., they measure 11.87 by 12.5 by 9.7 in. They operate in a vertical position.
