Passive Copper GBIC Detects Signal s' Presence

Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet systems, such as those employed in clustered workstations and servers, are expected to be the primary users of a new blind-mate, hot-pluggable Passive Copper Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC). The module boasts of signal detect (Rx_LOS) and in-rush current limiting features and supports connections via copper HSSDC cables for distances up to 13 meters.The 20-position, SCA2 pc board interface meets GBIC spec Rev. 4.5, while the 6-position HSSDC I/O connector conforms to Fibre Channel Ph-3 specs.
