This add-on board is designed for use in computers running very high-performance video applications that require high-resolution graphics with direct LCD and/or CRT-based support. Supporting 64-bit video with resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 pixels with 4 MB of on-board video RAM, the LCD VGA/PCI video controller board drives CRTs and supports direct live-video input via YUV. The board also supplies and controls the 12 vdc required to drive the backlight inverters used in most LCDs, as well as the power sequencing circuits to ensure that panels are not damaged during power up. Support for Chips and Technologies' PanelLink remote display mounting technology is included to let designers mount panels and touch-screens up to 30 feet away from the host computer.
