Pitch Strip Socket/Header Eyes SMT Applications

May 1, 2001

Available in lengths from two to 50 pins, this miniature "self-standing" single-row connector pair is designed for surface-mount applications. The self-standing socket and pin header design minimizes the pc board footprint and the height of the mated pair is only .218". Other features include high temperature thermoplastic insulators that are suitable for all forms of reflow soldering and reliable performance that is assured through the use of the company's precision machined pin and beryllium copper contact technology. Typical uses include as a board-to-board mezzanine connector in handheld instruments. It could be used to simplify final assembly or to permit future upgrade of the instrument as well.
