Announced as the market's only COTS PMC capable of driving two displays with independent video overlay, the PMC-704 exploits the power of an ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 graphics-processing engine, also known as the M9 chip. Claiming performance levels comparable to 6U graphics boards, the card accommodates current visualization technologies, including stereo helmet mounted displays, 3D terrain mapping, electronic panning and stabilization, and transparent-vehicle virtual displays. The chip operates at 250 MHz with a 64-MB, 128-bit wide DDR SDRAM frame buffer. The card provides two independent outputs that support analog monochrome or RGB, LVDS, and DVI interfaces. In addition to X11 and OpenGL, support is available for multiple operating systems including VxWorks and INTEGRITY. Available in the first quarter of 2004, pricing starts at $5,700.
