PMC-Format Card Can Capture Graphics And Video Signals

May 1, 2002

The first member of the Hawkeye family of COTS sensor input and display cards based on a PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) format has come to market in the form of the Falcon graphics and video capture board. The new card supports resolutions up to 1,280 x 1,024 pixels and its video input accepts composite and S-Video in PAL, NTSC or SECAM formats, as well as non-interlaced RGB signals. Video windows generated from the input can be enlarged to full screen size or reduced down to one-sixteenth original size. The Falcon uses Silicon MotionÕs Lynx3DM graphics controller to help it achieve low power dissipation and high-power 3D and 2D performance, with the rugged card also capable of withstanding high vibration and temperatures of from -20¡C to +65¡C. And the Falcon is compatible with both VME and cPCI host cards. More details are available from PRIMAGRAPHICS (USA), Amherst, MA. (802) 362-4655.
