Seeking high-speed data-acquisition (DAQ) chores, the PMC-FPDP board provides an ANSI/VITA-17 front-panel data port and works with VMEbus and/or CompactPCI single-board computers (SBCs) in DSP-based applications. The board is available in air-cooled and conduction-cooled versions to accom- modate harsh environments and commercial use. It relies on a PLX PCI 9656 chip to provide a 32/64-bit, 33/66-MHz master/slave interface with a linked-list DMA engine. Data throughput speeds are specified in excess of 100 MB/s. Control logic is managed by a user- programmable FPGA from Altera with a 64 KB FIFO. Software support is via LynxOS 4.0. Pricing starts at $2,240 each/100. THALES COMPUTERS, Raleigh, NC.
