The LBC-9017 PICMG 1.0 Rev. 2.2-compliant passive backplane single-board computer (SBC) is based on the Intel Xeon/Low-Voltage Xeon processor. It addresses high-performance broadcast/media, wire-line and wireless datacommunications/telecommunications, storage-area networks, industrial control and automation, and medical diagnostic imaging markets. Featured in the E7501 server chip set is a 400/533-MHz front-side bus. The high-performance LBC-9017 contains the Voltage Xeon at 2.0 GHz or the Xeon processor at up to 3.06 GHz with a 512-kbyte full core speed L2 cache. It also features 4-Gbyte DDR200/266 DIMMs, with full error-correction-code support, on two sockets. On-board are a high-performance graphics controller, dual 10-BaseT/100 BaseTX/1000BaseT Gigabit Ethernet auto-negotiating controllers, and a PCI Ultra DMA/100 IDE interface. The SBC also offers a CRT or flat-panel video controller, in addition to USB 1.1 ports, serial/parallel ports, and a floppy interface. Optionally, an Ultra320 SCSI Hub Link 2.0 daughtercard at 1 Gbyte/s can be ordered. The LBC9017 supports on-board PCI and PCI-X buses as well as an off-board 32-bit/33-MHz or 64-bit/66-MHz PCI bus. A PCI-to-ISA bridge supports ISA bus mastering with up to 20-slot drive capability. Other features include a hardware monitor (voltages, temperature, and fan), three-stage programmable watchdog timer, and diagnostic LEDs. Pricing for the LBC-9017 (excluding memory) with a 2.0-GHz Low-Voltage Xeon processor starts at $1695 in OEM quantities.
