For transmission of data between chips across a board, through a backplane, or through cabling, the MC92600 WarpLink Quad is a full-duplex serial data interface IC whose four transceivers transmit and receive data at 1-Gbps rates through each 1.25-Gbps gigabaud link. The IC consumes just 1W and carries on-chip link termination resistors, saving up to 32 external components on the termination side. Other features include BIST facilities and clock generation/recovery on each channel.
